Mommy's Little Monster (Captain):
The story of my life…
A long time ago when I was just a wee little monster I began to roller skate. I learned to go backwards and forwards and how to shoot the duck, all from Jim Collins at Skate Station in Brunswick. Skate Station became my home away from home. I spent every Friday and Saturday night at the skating rink. In fact, I was there so much they finally broke down and hired me. It was the best job, ever. I’ll tell you a secret now. I’m much more graceful on skates than my own two feet. Yup, I’m normally very clumsy but on skates, I glide. Skating backwards is my favorite.
When I’m not kicking butt on the rink, I have an environmental job. So…recycle, people! I like hiking, camping and canoeing, but dang it’s hard to skate in the woods! I’m also a big fan of going to see bands, and hanging out… Every once in a while you’ll even catch me engaging in a hula-hooping contest, on skates, at a bar. Now that’s not something you see everyday.
I have a wonderful husband Gary who fully supports the BRRG. By support I mean, he buys them drinks, scrapes them off the floor and escorts them to the car in bad neighborhoods. What a gentleman! I also have a little girl. Well, to be exact, I have a black, four-legged, furry little girl named Roxy. She owns my heart and she knows it! Bring her a raw-hide bone and she will be your best friend too.
In conclusion, roller derby is the best thing ever. I highly suggest you keep company with the BRRG gals, we know how to have a good time. And keep your eye on me because in a short time I’m going to be wiping the floor with the competition. Oh yeah! It’s on!
